Removing the Headliner

Headliner

1 - Pull out the upper front portion of the upper door trim

 

2 - Locate the clip near the rearward end of the trim. Twist the trim towards the outside and down to free it from the clip (you may have to slip a flat blade screwdriver between the 2 clip's legs and the trim to free it up)

 

3 - Unclip the 2 clips on the front pillard (those clips break easilly, count on replacing them)

 

4 - Remove 3 screws on the head visor and pull downward to take it off (that is 3 screws per side)

 

5 - Take off the outter 2 lamp dome light lenses

 

6 - Remove the 2 front and the 2 back screws from the lamp dome

       

 

7 - Disconnect the lamps connector

 

8 - Remove 1 screw for the sunroof latch cover

 

9 - You can leave the sunroof latch for now.

 

10 - Remove 1 screw for the coat hagner behind the seat (there is 2 hagners in the car)

 

11 - Unclip upper seat belt trim and remove torx screw

 

12 - Remove upper seatbelt strap from interior side panel

 

13 - Remove 1 screw from side panel (located in door opening)

 

14 - Remove lower seatbelt strap from interior side panel

 

15 - Grab upper rear interior side panel (near back glass) and pull slightly outward

 

16 - Slip fingers under interior side panel

 

17 - Pull the interior side panel towards the front of the car until the upper section can be free from the plastic interior upper door trim

 

18 - Carefully remove the lower section of the interior side panel

 

19 - Remove the plastic trim around the sunroof opening

 

20 - Pull out the headliner material that was "tucked in" under the sunroof trim and remove the headliner

!!! CAUTION !!! The headliner material is extremelly fragile. DO NOT bend it !
